The Cavaliers signed Malik Newman to a 10-day deal on Tuesday, per Shams Charania.
Newman is likely going to step in to provide depth at point guard with Darius Garland in protocols. It’s unlikely he provides any value for fantasy teams,

Tre Jones scored 23 points on 9-of-19 shooting (1-of-3 3-pointers) and added four rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes as the Spurs lost to the Bulls 92-89 in summer league action on Tuesday.

Similar to other second-year players, Jones is using summer league to gain some experience and prove that he belongs as he is matching up against many players who do not have NBA experience. Jones certainly looked more confident and assertive on Tuesday evening. San Antonio also got 20 points from Jaylen Morris who went 8-of-11 from the floor (3-of-4 3-pointers) with five rebounds one assist and one steal. Former Cavaliers guard Malik Newman scored 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting (2-of-5 3-pointers) with six rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Malik Newman and J.P. Macura have signed 10-day contracts with the Cavs.
Both these guys will be available for Cleveland’s final two games heading into the All-Star break, but there are no guarantees either of them will see meaningful minutes in the rotation.

The Heat have waived Malik Newman and Marcus Lee.
Both players had training camp deals, but the Heat will waive them in order to bring in Charles Cooke and guard DeAndre Liggins. Newman and Lee should end up with the Heat’s G-League team.

Malik Newman has agreed to a contract with the Miami Heat.
He was waived by the Lakers just a few weeks after he signed a two-way contract. The terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed yet, but the Heat already have both their two-way contracts used up so it’s likely a training camp deal.

Malik Newman sat out of the Lakers summer league game on Tuesday due to a foot injury.
He was just signed to a two-way contract on Sunday, so we’ll hopefully get to see him take the court during summer league. If not, expect Newman to start out with the South Bay Lakers in the G-League.

Malik Newman and Isaac Bonga are expected to play on Saturday.
Newman had a foot issue earlier this week and the Lakers just signed the 6'9" Bonga yesterday. Bonga is one of the longest point guards in the draft class, so a lot of eyes should be on him today. We’ll see if Newman has a restriction after missing time.
