Lee

Lee appeared in 11 games for the Raiders last year. He only saw 33 snaps on defensive but logged an additional 240 plays on special teams. Lee will continue playing primarily on special teams in Buffalo.

Lee (6’3/240) was a three-year starter and four-year contributor for the Demon Deacons, tallying 42 career tackles for loss with 14.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. Lee was exposed as a below-average athlete at Wake Forest’s Pro Day, running 4.78 with a sluggish 7.28 three-cone time. A productive college player whose skills are questionable to translate, Lee best projects as early-career special teams help with an outside chance to become a capable spot starter on defense.

He was one of six Raiders draft picks to sign on Friday. Lee will enter the league with a chip on his shoulder after underwhelming at his Wake Forest Pro Day. He’ll begin his career on special teams.

Lee’s absence is bad news against Dalvin Cook and company. The extent of the injury is unknown.

Lee had been lightly used through the Raiders’ first three games, playing 18 total snaps. Lee had a bigger role in 2018. In theory, he will be a candidate for return.

The Raiders are thin a LB with Lee sidelined, but the good news is Vontaze Burfict (elbow) has returned.

A 2017 fifth-round pick, Lee started two of the Raiders’ first three games before landing on I.R. but but played just 18 snaps in that span. He’s more depth than anything, though the Raiders have one of the weakest linebacker groups.
