    Nay has yet to reach the majors after being selected 58th overall by the Blue Jays back in 2012. The 28-year-old infielder spent time with the Angels last year, hitting .237/.347/.480 with 23 home runs and one steal across 430 plate appearances at Double-A Rocket City. He’ll bolster the Angels’ organizational infield depth again this season.

    Nay was selected 57th overall in the 2012 MLB Draft by the Blue Jays, when new Angels GM Perry Minasian was working for that organization. The 27-year-old has yet to reach the majors, though he did post a promising .845 OPS with 17 home runs and 65 RBI in 114 games between the Double-A and Triple-A levels in 2019.

    The 26-year-old had a productive season in the Reds’ organization in 2019, slashing .278/.341/.504 with 17 homers and 65 RBI over 114 games between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville. He’ll add minor league depth for the M’s.

    Blue Jays reassigned 3B Mitch Nay to minor league camp.
    Nay got a special invitation to Blue Jays camp this spring, but he was never actually in the running for an Opening Day roster spot. The 21-year-old third base prospect batted .278/.335/.376 with three home runs, 35 doubles, and 60 RBI in 131 games last season between Low-A Lansing and High-A Dunedin. Toronto selected him 58th overall in the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft.

    The 20-year old Nay has a .279/.337/.373 line for the season, and has hit .303/.356/.405 since the beginning of June. He has a knack for solid contact and has the potential to hit .280 with 20 home runs, but will need a few more years to have a chance to reach his potential.

    Nay has hits in 15 of his last 18 games, hitting .346/.378/.500 with nine doubles and one home run, raising his season line to .289/.344/.394 with 31 doubles, three triples, and three home runs. Nay has yet to turn his batting practice power into in-game power, but the doubles and a solid approach are great signs. He has the potential to hit .280 with 20 home runs, but will need a few more years to develop.

    Nay has hit .404/.435/.526 with seven doubles during his 14-game hitting streak, raising his season line to .291/.351/.389. The 20-year old Arizona-native has hit well for the season, but Jays fans would like to see him tap into his power during game situations. Nay is likely to stay in the Midwest League for the rest of the year, then spend 2015 in the High-A Florida State League.

    After a slow start to the season, Nay has hit .305/.358/.418 with 19 doubles, one triple, one home run, and four stolen bases since the beginning of June. He has the raw power to hit 20 home runs, but his gap-power has yet to turn into over-the-wall power. He will likely spend the rest of his season with Lansing and open 2015 with High-A Dunedin.
