Mets first base prospect Allan Dykstra appears to have a fractured wrist.
The youngster’s X-rays will be reviewed by doctors in New York. Dykstra was selected by the Padres in the first round of the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft and was dealt to the Mets last spring. He has power, but, at 24, is running out of time as a prospect.

Mets first base prospect Allan Dykstra has suffered a broken fibula while playing in winter ball.
Dykstra is headed back to the United States, where he’s likely to undergo surgery. It’s not clear how long he’ll be sidelined. The 26-year-old is coming off a nice season at Double-A Birmingham, where he batted .274/.436/.503 with 21 homers and 82 RBI.

Allan Dykstra has signed with the independent league Sugar Land Skeeters.
Dykstra batted .129/.289/.226 in 13 games earlier this season for the Rays. The 28-year-old will try to impress for Sugar Land enough to perhaps get another shot in a major league organization.

Rays purchased the contract of 1B Allan Dykstra from Triple-A Durham.
Dykstra made an impression during spring training with a couple homers and a double in 16 at-bats and now finds himself in the majors for the first time. The 27-year-old batted .274/.326/.436 with 16 homers with the Mets’ Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas last season. He’s in the lineup Wednesday and should see plenty of time at first base versus righties while James Loney (oblique) is out.

Rays designated 1B Allan Dykstra for assignment.
Dykstra is the odd man out with James Loney back in the fold, and his 40-man roster spot was needed for Everett Teaford who had his contract selected on Saturday. If he passes through waivers unclaimed, Dykstra will continue to function as organizational depth for the Rays.

Allen Dykstra connected for his first major league home run Friday against the Yankees.
Dykstra hit a go-ahead three-run shot off Adam Warren in the fourth inning, but Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees battled back to get the win. Called up after James Loney’s recent oblique strain, the 27-year-old is just 2-for-17 in the majors thus far, but he has drawn six walks.

Rays optioned 1B Allan Dykstra to Triple-A Durham.
Dykstra’s brief stay with the Rays comes to an end as James Loney is slated to return from the disabled list on Friday. He managed to hit just .129/.289/.226 in 38 plate appearances with the big league club.

Rays sent 1B Allan Dykstra outright to Triple-A Durham.
Dykstra was designated for assignment by the Rays this weekend to clear a roster spot for James Loney. The 27-year-old passed through waivers unclaimed despite owning an intriguing .856 career minor league OPS. Dykstra should get another shot eventually.
  • TB 1st Baseman
Rays reassigned INF Allan Dykstra and OF Taylor Motter to minor league camp.
Both were expected cuts. Dykstra, 27, hit .280/.426/.504 with the Mets’ Triple-A affiliate in Vegas last year while the 25-year-old Motter batted .274/.326/.436 over 119 games with Double-A Montgomery.
