    Orioles acquired LHP Boston Bateman, RHPs Tyson Neighbors and Tanner Smith and INFs Brandon Butterworth, Victor Figueroa and Cobb Hightower from the Padres for 1B/DH Ryan O’Hearn and OF Ramon Laureano.
    Bateman, a 19-year-old southpaw, was the fourth ranked prospect in the Padres’ system according to MLB Pipeline. He has registered a 4.08 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and a 75/25 K/BB ratio over 68 1/3 innings over 15 starts at Single-A Lake Elsinore in his first professional season. He’s a nice get for the Orioles.

    According to Dennis Lin of The Athletic, 19-year-old left-hander Boston Bateman is among the prospects heading to the Orioles from the Padres in the return package for Ryan O’Hearn and Ramon Laureano.
    There are rumblings that there could be as many as six prospects heading the Orioles’ way in the deal. Bateman, 19, is currently ranked as the fourth best prospect in the Padres’ system according to MLB Pipeline. The 6'8 left-hander was the Padres’ second-round selection from the 2024 draft class and has posted a 4.08 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and a 75/25 K/BB ratio over 68 1/3 innings in 15 starts at Single-A Lake Elsinore in his first taste of professional ball this season.
