Indians signed C Cameron Rupp to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Athletics signed C Cameron Rupp to a minor league contract.
Rupp had been released from his minor league deal with the Tigers earlier this week. The 30-year-old hasn’t played in the majors since 2017 and is merely a depth addition.

Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Tigers have acquired Cameron Rupp from the Giants.
There’s no word on what the Giants will receive, but it doesn’t figure to be anything of consequence. The move should benefit Rupp, as he probably wasn’t going to get to play with the Giants but could conceivably see some time with the Tigers.

    Tigers released C Cameron Rupp.
Rupp was batting just .254/.329/.366 with one home run through 79 plate appearances this season at Triple-A Toledo. The former Phillies catcher hasn’t played in a game at the major league level since 2017.

Tigers reassigned C Cameron Rupp to minor league camp.
The Tigers are going with Grayson Greiner and John Hicks behind the plate to begin the year. Rupp was acquired from the Giants earlier this month and will serve as depth at the Triple-A level.

Tigers acquired C Cameron Rupp from the Giants for cash considerations.
The veteran backstop wasn’t going to crack the Giants’ Opening Day roster, so the Tigers add some veteran depth on the cheap behind Greyson Greiner and John Hicks. Still, Rupp doesn’t move the needle from a fantasy perspective.

Giants signed C Cameron Rupp to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Jon Heyman of Fancred notes that Rupp will earn $750,000 if he makes the big league roster. The 30-year-old backstop and longtime former Phillie is a career .234/.298/.407 hitter with 39 homers in 1127 plate appearances at the big league level for his career. He’ll add catching depth for the Giants behind Buster Posey.

Cameron Rupp picked up the first two RBI of his MLB career, leading the Phillies to a 5-4 victory over the Braves on Saturday.
The 25-year-old backstop who is serving as additional catching depth in September, drew a rare start and responded with a 2-for-4 game, including a two-run single off Mike Minor in the first inning. He’s unlikely to hold any fantasy value next season.

Phillies purchased the contract of C Cameron Rupp from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rupp batted .258/.318/.437 with 14 homers between Double- and Triple-A this season. He’ll serve as the team’s third catcher this month.

Cameron Rupp was pulled from Saturday’s game against the Pirates after taking a pitch off his helmet.
The 91 mph fastball from Pirates rookie Tyler Glasnow caught Rupp right in the ear hole. He’ll probably be put through MLB’s concussion protocol. Look for an update Saturday night or Sunday morning. Rupp was 0-for-1 in the game, after going 2-for-4 with a homer, a walk, and three RBI on Friday night.
