Yankees signed RHP Chance Nolan to a minor league contract.
Nolan, a former quarterback at Oregon State University, is transitioning from the gridiron to the diamond after experiencing a concussion and serious neck injury. The right-hander has been working out at Driveline and has reportedly notched a top velocity of 97 mph. Nolan has played a total of 3 1/3 innings of baseball since his Freshman year of high school — which came with the Morningside Mustangs of the Great Plains Athletic Conference in 2024. Nolan registered a 2.70 ERA and 3/9 K/BB ratio for the Mustangs. He’s an intriguing lottery ticket for the Yankees.
