Barnwell

Milwaukee needed a utilityman with Jeff Cirillo limited. The 27-year-old Barnwell was hitting .326/.392/.443 with nine steals for Nashville. He won’t survive the eventual return of J.J. Hardy from the DL.

The 29-year-old hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since 2006, when he went 2-for-30 during a 13-game cameo with the Brewers.

He goes to make room for Tony Graffanino. Barnwell was 2-for-30 with one RBI and one walk in 13 games.

Before the Brewers were able to acquire Tony Graffanino and David Bell, Barnwell spent a month in the majors and went 2-for-30 in a utility role. The 27-year-old could be re-signed to a minor league deal and put back at Nashville next year. He’s not someone with much of a future in the majors.
