Following the trade of Ben Grieve, Dave Krynzel is expected to see a lot of time in right field the rest of the way.
Another scenario is moving Geoff Jenkins to right field and Scott Podsednik to left so that Krynzel can take over in center, but manager Ned Yost said that probably wouldn’t be attempted until spring training if at all. Krynzel has been a prospect for a while, but he didn’t really do anything this season to earn such a long look. At Triple-A Indianapolis he hit just .276 with six homers and 26 RBI in 257 at-bats. He did steal 10 bags but was caught eight times.

Dave Krynzel is 1-for-11 with six strikeouts in his first four starts.
It would be one thing if the 2001 first-rounder had done something in the minors this season to earn the look he’s getting, but as it is he’s just thieving at-bats from Scott Podsednik, who has heated back up and is trying for a stolen base title.

Dave Krynzel, who had just one major league hit entering tonight, had three hits and scored three runs against the Cardinals tonight.
Krynzel was once considered a pretty good prospect, but he had a very disappointing season in Triple-A this year. At this point, he’s not someone to expect production out of until he proves otherwise.

Brewers recalled outfielder Dave Krynzel from Triple-A Indianapolis.
It’s rather surprising that Krynzel, not Corey Hart, is the choice to replace Ben Grieve on the roster, but we assume Hart will join the team tomorrow. Krynzel should get the occasional start in center and right. Hart is more worthy of playing time in right. It doesn’t seem likely that either will have much value in NL-only leagues.

Dave Krynzel was scratched tonight because of tightness in his left leg.
Manager Ned Yost had planned to start Krynzel over Scott Podsednik.

Krynzel is expected to head back to Triple-A for the start of the year, but he could be Milwaukee’s center fielder during the second half of the season. Brady Clark is the only player in front ofo him.
