Pirates recalled LHP Dave Davidson from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Davidson, a 2002 10th-rounder, will make his major league debut after finishing with a 3.88 ERA as a reliever between Double- and Triple-A. He gets a fair amount of strikeouts and he keeps the ball in the yard, so he has a chance to be a pretty useful middle reliever.

Davidson, who had been designated for assignment by the Pirates, will report to Triple-A New Orleans. He provides organizational depth.

Marlins recalled LHP David Davidson from Triple-A New Orleans.
The Marlins just need warm bodies in the bullpen after their relief corps was decimated by Wednesday’s doubleheader. Don’t expect Davidson to last long in Florida.

Orioles returned LHP David Davidson to the Marlins; Marlins placed Davidson on the 60-day disabled list.
The waiver claim by the Orioles was voided after tests revealed a shoulder injury. Davidson is a fringe LOOGY, so neither team will miss him. He has a chance to grab a spot in a bullpen next year.

Pirates designated LHP Dave Davidson for assignment.
Davidson had been on the Pirates’ 40-man roster for a couple of years now, but he’s never possessed much in the way of upside. The 24-year-old had a 3.34 ERA as a Double-A reliever last season.

Orioles claimed LHP David Davidson off waivers from Marlins.
The Orioles immediately optioned Davidson to Triple-A Norfolk. Davidson was lit up by the Rays in his only big league appearance this season when he gave up five earned runs in just one inning. The bright side - his three outs that inning were all strikeouts. The youngster still has some potential, he likely needs more seasoning in the minors before making the leap to a big league bullpen in the next year or so.

    Marlins released LHP David Davidson.
Davidson made one appearance with the big club this season back in May, allowing five runs on four hits over one inning. The 25-year-old southpaw was claimed off waivers from the Pirates in April and posted a 2.53 ERA in 10 appearances with Triple-A New Orleans before coming down with a shoulder injury in June. He still has a chance to make it as LOOGY in the majors.
