David Maust pitched four no-hit innings tonight for the Saguaros of the AFL.
His impressive outing came against the high-scoring Surprise lineup. Maust, a 27-year-old lefty, had a 2.32 ERA and a 78/14 K/BB ratio in 100 2/3 IP while splitting time between the pen and rotation for Double-A Harrisburg last season. He’s not all that much of a prospect, but it’s possible he’ll see time in the majors next year.

David Maust pitched 7 1/3 innings of one-hit ball for Double-A Harrisburg against New Hampshire on Monday.
Maust, 27, has a 1.59 ERA in four starts this season. He was also quite effective last year, so while he’s never been viewed as much of a prospect, there’s a chance he’ll reach the majors at some point during the season.
