Rays reassigned INF Gregory Barrios to minor league camp.
The 20-year-old infielder was limited early on in camp due to a sore elbow that prevented him from throwing. It’s not expected to be a long-term concern, but he’ll continue rehabbing on the minor league side of things. With this move, the Rays are now down to 73 players remaining in big league camp.
  • Rays acquired INF Gregory Barrios from the Brewers for RHP Aaron Civale.
The 20-year-old from Venezuela has been with High-A Wisconsin, where he hit .317 with one home run and 16 stolen bases in 60 games. Barrios is fast, plays good defense at shortstop, and makes good contact. He just has to develop some more power at the plate.
