Diamondbacks signed RHP Isaiah Campbell to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Campbell will compete for a spot in Arizona’s bullpen next spring after getting lit up to the tune of an inflated 11.30 ERA (6.36 FIP) across 14 1/43 innings over 14 appearances for the Red Sox over the past two seasons. The 28-year-old righty was a notable relief prospect a couple years ago with the Mariners but hasn’t quite panned out at the highest level.

Red Sox sent RHP Isaiah Campbell outright to Triple-A Worcester.
Campbell has been removed from Boston’s 40-man roster heading into the offseason and figures to elect free agency after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old righty posted a bloated 7.03 ERA across 7 2/3 innings of work over six appearances this past season at the highest level.

Red Sox optioned RHP Isaiah Campbell to Triple-A Worcester.
Campbell’s ERA has ballooned to 7.03 after he allowed three earned runs in 2/3 of an inning Sunday against the Marlins. The right-hander heads to Triple-A, and all signs point to Justin Slaten being recalled before Thursday’s game versus the Yankees.

Greg Weissert allowed two runs on two hits in 1/3 of an inning to blow a save in a loss to the Marlins on Sunday.
The Red Sox had to use Aroldis Chapman on back-to-back nights because Isaiah Campbell was unable to close out a 7-2 lead on Saturday, so the closer was unavailable on Sunday. That proved to be huge as Weissert was used against the bottom of the Marlins order and quickly gave up a solo home run to Dane Myers and then a wingle to Eric Wagaman before Steven Matz came in and gave up a two-run home run to lose them the game.

Red Sox recalled RHP Isaiah Campbell from Triple-A Worcester.
Campbell allowed two runs in two innings in one appearance for Boston last month. Following an injury-plagued 2024, his velocity is back up to where it was during his encouraging 2023 debut with the Mariners. Still, his 4.17 ERA and 20% strikeout rate in Triple-A don’t stand out.

Red Sox optioned RHP Isaiah Campbell to Triple-A Worcester.
Campbell hits the minors after the Red Sox activated Hunter Dobbins off the 15-day injured list for his start Friday. Campbell could get another chance before the end of the year in a low-leverage role.

Red Sox selected the contract of RHP Isaiah Campbell from Triple-A Worcester.
Campbell will be making his season debut after posting a 3.89 ERA and a 33/11 K/BB in 39 1/3 innings out of the pen for Worcester. The former Mariner had a 16.20 ERA in 6 2/3 innings for the Red Sox during an injury-plagued 2024 season, after which he was non-tendered and re-signed to a minor league deal.

Red Sox reassigned RHPs Austin Adams, Isaiah Campbell, and Noah Davis to minor league camp.
Adams, Campbell and Davis were all signed to minor league deals before the start of spring. All three will likely be depth pieces with Triple-A Worcester to begin the 2025 season.

Red Sox re-signed RHP Isaiah Campbell to a minor league contract.
The Red Sox didn’t waste any time bringing back Campbell and Bryan Mata on Friday, signing each to minor league contracts just hours after they were non-tendered. Campbell missed the majority of the 2024 season due to shoulder woes, appearing in just eight games for the Red Sox and posting a troublesome 16.20 ERA and 2.40 WHIP over his 6 2/3 innings of work. He’ll continue to serve as extra bullpen depth.

Red Sox non-tendered RHP Isaiah Campbell.
The 27-year-old hurler had been designated for assignment on Tuesday to free up a spot on the club’s 40-man roster so it’s not surprising to see him non-tendered. Campbell missed the entire 2024 season due to a right shoulder injury and it’s still unclear whether or not he’ll be ready for the start of the 2025 campaign.
