Tigers acquire LHP Jay Voss from the Marlins for LHP Nate Robertson and cash considerations.
The fomer eighth-round pick from 2007 has thrived since moving to the bullpen. Voss, who turns 23 in April, posted a 2.97 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 36/15 K/BB ratio in 36 1/3 innings with Double-A Jacksonville last season. He had success against both lefties and righties in ’09, but projects best as a left-handed specialist in the majors.
