If the NL West hasn’t been decided before Friday, the Dodgers will throw Jeff Weaver, Edwin Jackson, and Odalis Perez at the Giants.
San Francisco would counter with Kirk Rueter, Brett Tomko, and Jason Schmidt. Perez would be going on three-days’ rest if he is needed Sunday.

GM Brian Cashman maintains the Yankees did not hastily call a rainout on Thursday in order to prevent a struggling Jeff Weaver from pitching in the Subway series.
The Yankee game was called shortly after the scheduled 1:05 p.m. gametime, though the weather was clear most of the afternoon, so the game could’ve been played. Weaver’s next start will come Tuesday at Tampa Bay which is a good deal, though it’s not like the Mets are a lumber company.

Jeff Weaver will head up the Dodgers’ rotation after the All-Star break.
Kazuhisa Ishii, Odalis Perez and Jose Lima would follow him. Edwin Jackson will remain as the Dodgers’ 5th starter and Wilson Alvarez will be sent to the bullpen, unless Perez is not ready to start.

Jeff Weaver limited the Pirates to one run and five hits in eight innings today to pick up his 10th win of the year.
Weaver struck out four and walked none. He has a 1.21 WHIP to go along with his less impressive 4.34 ERA.

Jeff Weaver was pounded for seven runs in 3 1/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Phillies.
Weaver was a little better than the line indicated last time out against the Cubs, but the fact remains that he’s had just one strong outing in four starts for the Cardinals. He can’t be used in NL-only leagues when he starts at Cincinnati next week.

Jeff Weaver worked six innings and allowed one run Monday in a defeat of the Reds.
Weaver fanned eight, which is three more batters than he struck out over 18 2/3 innings in his first four starts with the Cardinals. With the Pirates and probably the Cubs up next, Weaver is worthy of another look in NL-only leagues.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Angels may move Jeff Weaver to the bullpen in order to keep Jered Weaver in the rotation once Bartolo Colon returns.
The newspaper also reports that the Angels have told teams that they’re willing to trade Jeff Weaver, “but have found little interest.”

Jeff Weaver surrendered four runs -- two earned -- in 5 2/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Mariners.
Weaver’s ERA came down once again, but it was his own two errors that led to the unearned runs. Even though he’s had four decent starts in a row, the Angels will have to give serious consideration to removing him from the rotation following Bartolo Colon’s return next weekend.

Jeff Weaver, pitching to stay in the rotation, gave up three runs and fanned nine in six innings versus the Padres on Friday.
A decent outing, but his brother is still pitching better. Weaver gave up seven hits, including his 17th homer in 14 starts. The Angels may send him to the pen to make room for Bartolo Colon in the rotation.

Jeff Weaver beat the Rangers by allowing three runs and five hits in six innings on Wednesday.
It looked like another potentially early exit for Weaver after the Rangers scored once in the first and twice on Brad Wilkerson’s homer in the second, but the right-hander retired 14 of the final 17 batters he faced. He also matched his season-high with five strikeouts while earning just his second win. AL-only leaguers can activate him for his start against the Twins next week.
