Rockies sent RHP Jordan Sheffield outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Sheffield was designated for assignment last week and ultimately passed through waivers unclaimed. The 27-year-old right-hander has allowed 24 runs -- 22 earned -- in 17 2/3 innings this season at Triple-A.

Rockies designated RHP Jordan Sheffield for assignment.
The Rockies needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Wynton Bernard on Friday and it looks as though Sheffield was the odd-man out this time around. There’s a chance that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as minor league pitching depth for the Rockies.

Rockies optioned RHP Jordan Sheffield to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Sheffield was brought up last weekend and has been sent back to the minors to allow the Rockies to bring up a fresh arm prior to Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Padres.

Rockies recalled RHP Jordan Sheffield from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Sheffield has been called back up to the majors to give the Rockies’ bullpen some extra reinforcement heading into Saturday’s matchup against the Dodgers at Coors Field. The 27-year-old righty hasn’t made an appearance in the majors this season after getting into 30 contests last year.

Rockies optioned RHP Jordan Sheffield to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Sheffield has been shipped out to make room for Robert Stephenson and Lucas Gilbreath to rejoin the Rockies’ bullpen for Tuesday’s game against the Phillies. The 26-year-old righty gave up a pair of runs and recorded only one out in his lone appearance this season for the Rockies. He should be back at some point later this year.

Robert Stephenson (COVID-19) and Lucas Gilbreath (COVID-19) will be activated prior to Tuesday’s game against the Phillies.
Both players landed on the COVID-19 IL just prior to Opening Day. Colton Welker and Jordan Sheffield will be optioned in corresponding moves.

Rockies recalled RHP Jordan Sheffield from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Sheffield jumps into the Opening Day roster mix amid a little COVID-19 situation in Colorado. The 26-year-old right-hander will probably operate as a low-leverage bullpen arm out of the gate.

Rockies optioned RHP Jordan Sheffield to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Sheffield had surrendered a whopping eight earned runs through just 2 1/3 innings of relief this spring in the Cactus League. The 26-year-old will enter 2022 as organizational relief depth for the Rockies.

Rockies activated RHP Jordan Sheffield from the 60-day injured list.
The right-hander has been sidelined since early June with a lat injury. Sheffield comes back to a 3.26 ERA over 19 appearances after being selected in the 2020 Rule 5 Draft from the Dodgers.

Jordan Sheffield (lat) allowed four runs in two-thirds of an inning in a rehab appearance for High-A Spokane on Sunday.
Sheffield was thought to be done for the season due to a lat strain, but he’s trying to make it back for the stretch run. Sunday’s outing didn’t go well, though, as he allowed three hits (including two homers) and a walk. The Rockies plan to move him up to Triple-A for his next appearance, so at least he’s feeling good. The results will hopefully come too.
