Benitez

Benitez was released earlier this month by the Red Sox and will head to Los Angeles as extra minor league relief depth. The 25-year-old lefty was brilliant last year in Seattle’s system, but really struggled this year at Triple-A Worcester.

The 24-year-old southpaw spent his first six minor league seasons in the Mariners’ organization. In 2023, he compiled a 1.95 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and an 82/44 K/BB ratio over 64 2/3 innings between High-A Everett and Double-A Arkansas. He’ll add bullpen depth for the Red Sox.
