Tigers re-signed infielder Kody Eaves and catcher Kade Scivicque to minor league contracts.

Eaves was unable to build on a solid 2017 season last year, finishing at .209/.297/.315 in his third year in Double-A. He should spend most of the year with Triple-A Toledo.

Tigers acquired INF Kody Eaves from the Angels for INF Jefry Marte.

Eaves, 22, has almost exclusively played second base in the minors and batted .248/.308/.387 with 11 home runs, 71 RBI, and 21 stolen bases over 134 games last season at the High-A level. There’s some interesting power and speed here, but strikeouts have been a big issue for him.
