Cardinals IF prospect Matt Williams drove in a career-high five runs in Saturday’s win for Triple-A Memphis.
Williams’ previous career-high came in 2011 when he plated four runs in a win for Rookie-level Johnson City. Nine of his 11 RBI this season have come in his last seven games. The 26-year-old has never hit for much power, collecting only 20 homers across 1,616 minor league at-bats. He’s done his best work with runners on base this season, hitting .370 compared to only .194 with the bases empty.
