White Sox signed RHP Matthew McGarry to a minor league contract.
McGarry, a versatile middle infielder at Vanderbilt and Santa Clara at the collegiate level, will be converting to pitching full-time with the White Sox this upcoming season. The 25-year-old righty made one relief appearance on the mound for the Schaumburg Boomers of the independent Frontier League last season. He’ll open the 2022 season with the White Sox’ Arizona Complex League affiliate as a long-term pitching project.
