Brian MacPherson reports Red Sox reliever Craig Breslow will make his first major league start on Saturday, as the club needs a spot starter. He’ll be limited to 40 pitches in what will be a bullpen game versus the Orioles. Breslow had started once in his professional baseball career, in 2007 with the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Breslow, 35, has appeared in 43 games, posting a 4.53 ERA with a 42/21 K/BB ratio over 55 2/3 innings. The 10-year veteran is earning $2 million and will be eligible for free agency after the season.
