Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports reports that the Dodgers have acquired pitcher Eric Surkamp from the White Sox. SB Nation’s Eric Stephen reports the Dodgers have sent pitcher Blake Smith to the White Sox in return.
Surkamp has made 10 relief appearances and one start for Triple-A Charlotte, compiling a 2.81 ERA with a 30/9 K/BB ratio in 25 2/3 innings. The lefty was initially brought through the White Sox organization as a starter, but was used as a reliever last year. He has a 6.20 ERA across 53 2/3 major league innings.
