Randal Grichuk and Matt Adams are both back on the Cardinals’ active roster after disabled list stints, but they’re limited to pinch-hitting duties for the most part. Matt Holliday won’t have that kind of restriction.
Cardinals GM John Mozeliak told Jim Hayes of FOX Sports Midwest on Sunday that Holliday could return during the team’s upcoming three-game series in Milwaukee and “he’ll be ready to play everyday” when he is officially activated.
Holliday tore his right quad on June 8 and then tore it again in late July.
He’s batting .290/.409/.420 with four homers and 31 RBI in 63 games played this season.
