Jordy Mercer’s glove-flip to Neil Walker in the fifth inning of last night’s Pirates-Giants game was not on target. But Walker still managed to turn it. How? Two amazing feats: (1) barehanding the flip, which a lot of guys might have missed; and (2) managing to turn and get anything at all on this throw to first base to complete the double play.
Heck, make it three things: keeping his foot on the bag and not relying on a hop or a neighborhood play. Just super impressive:
