After getting shut out over the first two months of the season, Brewers’ outfielder Nyjer Morgan is finally on the board.

Morgan clubbed a solo homer off Pirates’ right-hander Kevin Correia in the bottom of the first inning tonight, giving him his first RBI of the season.

It took Morgan an astounding 138 plate appearances to collect his first RBI, which is a new MLB record. The previous record-holder was former White Sox outfielder Herb Adams, who needed 131 appearances to get his first RBI back in 1950.

Morgan entered play tonight hitting just .226/.289/.234 through 45 games, with 27 of his 28 hits falling for singles.
