WAPT’s Mike Perchick reports that the Red Sox have signed Quentin Berry to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. It is believed he will earn $620,000 if he makes the roster.
Berry, 30, spent most of 2014 at Triple-A Norfolk in the Orioles’ system. There, he batted .285/.382/.367 with 25 stolen bases.
This Berry’s second stint with the Red Sox, as he was with the team in 2013. Though he never took an official plate appearance in the 2013 playoffs, Berry was a valuable asset off the bench, stealing three bases in as many attempts for the Red Sox.
