Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Mets have signed infielder Jose Reyes to a one-year deal. According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the deal is for $2 million with an additional $500,000 available through incentives.

Reyes, 34, hit .246/.315/.413 with 15 home runs, 58 RBI, 75 runs scored, and 24 stolen bases in 561 plate appearances last season. He spent 200-plus innings at both second and third base, and briefly spent some time in the outfield as well.

Rosenthal notes that Reyes is expected to contribute in a utility role and that the Mets aren’t done looking for a starting second baseman.
