The Cardinals are interested in Justin Turner

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Cardinals have interest in free agent third baseman Justin Turner.

The Cardinals’ interest is intriguing in that they would seem to have a full complement of infielders, with Jhonny Peralta manning third base. But Turner is a superior player to Peralta, both offensively and defensively, so I suppose stranger things have happened.

But if not the Cardinals, I’m sure Turner’s market will heat up nicely and soon. He has posted an .856 OPS in 386 games over the past three seasons and finds himself as one of the best all-around players currently on the market.
