The Twins announced today that they’ve hired Torii Hunter, Michael Cuddyer and LaTroy Hawkins as special assistants. It’s the usual special assistant gig: go to Spring Training to coach and mentor young people while simultaneously making Twins fans feel good about about a time when their club did not feel so miserable.
Indeed, the only surprising thing about is is that Nick Punto and Jacque Jones didn’t get hired too.
