Video: Miguel Cabrera hit a looooooong home run

Adams Avenue is the street that runs east-west beyond the outfield wall at Comerica Park in Detroit. But it’s not just beyond the wall like, say, Waveland Avenue is in Chicago. For starters, the wall is pretty far to center and left-center in Detroit, and then there are hedges and a big wide elevated concourse and a wide sidewalk on Adams outside of the gates.

Hitting a ball out that way would be quite a poke. Miguel Cabrera hit quite a poke off of Nathan Karns of the Mariners. Just look at this thing:

Statcast calls it a 454-foot homer. Other stories I saw this morning said it was 461. I’m not sure what to believe, but it sort of doesn’t matter. It was a bomb.
