White Sox minor leaguer Nick Blount was given a 50-game suspension Friday for violating Minor League Baseball’s drug program.
The 23-year-old right-hander tested positive for Amphetamine. In his professional debut at Great Falls in the Pioneer League, Blount posted a 3.18 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 41/17 K/BB ratio over 51 innings. He’ll begin serving his suspension at the beginning of the 2014 season.
