Rangers signed C Ryan Gold to a minor league contract.
Gold gives the Rangers some extra organizational catching depth in the upper minors after spending the last seven years in the Blue Jays’ system. The 25-year-old backstop batted a pedestrian .214/.313/.445 with 10 homers in 201 plate appearances last season for Double-A New Hampshire.
