Vance Worley delivered a strong performance against the Padres on Friday, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings of work.
He struck out nine and walked just two in the game. He ran into a bit of trouble in the fourth, allowing the Padres to string together a few hits and score twice, then surrendered a solo homer to Yonder Alonso in the sixth. With the victory, Worley improves to 3-2 on the season and raises his ERA to 3.07. He owns a stellar 45/15 strikeout to walk ratio through his first 44 innings on the season. He’ll look to carry over this strong effort when he takes on the Astros on Tuesday.
