Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 marks the official start of Boris Said season.

This weekend’s race at Sonoma Raceway, the 12-turn, 1.99-mile road course, will be Said’s first Sprint Cup start of the year.

While the Carlsbad, Calif. native has started two Xfinity Series races in 2015, neither of those were on road courses, his format of specialty. Said will be driving the No. 32 Ford for Go Green Racing.

“All year long I wait for two weekends, Sears Point (Sonoma Raceway) and Watkins Glen,” Said stated in a team release. “I always feel like a little kid at Christmas time when I think about getting behind the wheel of a cup car at Sears Point.”

Said has 49 Sprint Cup starts in his career with 16 coming at Sonoma and 14 at Watkins Glen, the only two road courses visited by the Sprint Cup. Said hasn’t started more than two Cup races in a year since 2011.

Said’s best finish in his 16 Sonoma starts is two consecutive sixth-place finishes in 2003 and ’04, but he did win the 1998 Camping World Truck Series race at the track.
