An MRI revealed a sprained right knee for Damian Lillard and he has been ruled out for Wednesday’s Game 5 matchup with the Lakers.
Brutal. Anfernee Simons is likely going to get the spot-start, while C.J. McCollum, Carmelo Anthony and Jusuf Nurkic will see a large uptick in usage. Gary Trent Jr. could be another option as a starter, but either way, he should see some more shots falling his way. It would be shocking if Portland’s season didn’t come to a close tomorrow night. Even if the Trail Balzers pull off a miracle and win this series, Lillard is likely done for the playoffs; although he should be fine for the 2020-21 season.
