Coach Mike D’Antoni is set on establishing a small-ball style and rotation. That means going with Amare Stoudemire at center and Shawn Marion and Casey Jacobsen at forwards - regardless of what the opponent may have on the court.
Jacobsen isn’t starting, but D’Antoni plans to give him plenty of time on the court. In this new role, when Jacobsen comes in, it could be for anyone in the starting lineup.

Free agent guard Casey Jacobsen said last month he rejected an offer by the Nuggets, which included $75,000 of guaranteed money, to attend camp.
Jacobsen, who is in line to make the minimum of $771,331, didn’t want to lock himself out of a possible better deal. “I wanted to get more (from the Nuggets),” said Jacobsen, who is currently talking with four or five other teams about playing this season.

Forward Casey Jacobsen, who has spent the past year playing in Europe, has reportedly reached a one-year contract agreement with the Houston Rockets.
Jacobsen told a Houston television station that he would take a physical on Tuesday and that the agreement is only partially guaranteed. He shouldn’t have fantasy value in most leagues.

The Rockets signed Casey Jacobsen to a one-year contract on Tuesday.
He won’t have fantasy value after spending the last couple years in Europe, but shouldn’t have any problem working his way into the rotation.

Casey Jacobsen had a career-high 21 points and added five boards, two assists, a steal and a three in the loss to the Sonics.
He has scored in double figures in four of his last five games and is starting to look like he may have some value in the second half of the year.

Casey Jacobsen reportedly worked out for the Heat yesterday.
The Heat want to re-sign Shandon Anderson and then sign another guard or forward who can ''dribble and shoot.’'

Hornets acquired swingman Casey Jacobsen and forwards Maciej Lampe and Jackson Vroman from the Suns for forward Jim Jackson and a 2005 second-round pick.
Great trade for New Orleans. The 23-year-old Jacobsen has proven to be a fine reserve. If the Hornets give him more minutes, his ability to knock down threes might give him a little fantasy value.

Casey Jacobsen had one point and one rebound in 10 minutes tonight in his Hornets debut.
Maciej Lampe and Jackson Vroman were DNP-CDs.

Casey Jacobsen had nine points, seven rebounds and seven assists in an embarrassing loss to the Heat tonight.
He hit just 2-of-9 shots but played 32 minutes. He’s probably not worthy of a spot on your team yet, but he’s a good player to keep your eye on.

Casey Jacobsen has retired, according to reports.
Jacobsen hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2007-08 season, so this news doesn’t send major ripples across the NBA landscape. The 33-year-old had most recently been playing in Germany with Brose Baskets Bamberg where he won five German Championships and five German Cups.
