Damien Wilkins will reportedly sign a five-year, $15 million deal with the Timberwolves today.
That’s a tough break for Seattle, who have the option to match the deal, but won’t be able to due to the amount of money involved. Dominique’s nephew is oozing with potential and should see some nice minutes in Minnesota, possibly making him a late-round sleeper in fantasy drafts.

Timberwolves sign forward Damien Wilkins to an offer sheet.
The Sonics have seven days to match, but it’s unknown what they’re going to do. The deal is thought to be worth $15 million over five years, and if that’s the case, he’s going to Minnesota because Seattle can’t afford him.
  • MEM Small Forward #12
Tayshaun Prince and Jonas Jerebko combined for just eight points on 2-of-12 shooting in Saturday’s ugly loss to the visiting Knicks.
Detroit’s starters were destroyed and more minutes trickled down to guys like Jason Maxiell (11 points, six rebounds) and Damien Wilkins (seven points, four rebounds, three assists). Prince and Jerebko should bounce back in their next game, but the 2-6 Pistons are quickly running out of time to get back on track.
  • DET Point Guard #6
Backup guard Will Bynum and forward Damien Wilkins are out for Sunday’s game against the Warriors.
Bynum has a strained right foot, meaning more minutes for Brandon Knight and Rodney Stuckey, while Wilkins is out for personal reasons. Both players should be considered day-to-day.

Damien Wilkins will miss Sunday’s game for personal reasons.
He has no fantasy value, even when in uniform.
  • MEM Small Forward #12
Tayshaun Prince is not playing on Wednesday due to a “family matter.”
Prince has been hot lately (18.2 points per game in his last six), so this is frustrating news for fantasy owners who started him this week. Damien Wilkins gets a start in place of Prince, who should be back on Friday barring something unexpected.
  • IND Shooting Guard #12
Damien Wilkins started in place of Tayshaun Prince (personal) on Wednesday and had nine points in 34 minutes.
The story of the night was Austin Daye’s explosion, when he scored 18 points in the second quarter and finished with a career-high 28 points. Prince will be back soon, which is bad news for both players, but our guess is Daye passed Wilkins on the depth chart tonight.
  • IND Shooting Guard #12
Damien Wilkins was the first Pistons’ player off the bench on Saturday -- he finished the upset victory with two points and two assists in 19 minutes.
Wilkins isn’t a viable fantasy option and only played this much because of Ben Gordon’s shoulder injury. It’s interesting, however, that Wilkins played 19 minutes while Austin Daye never even got off the bench for the short-handed Pistons.
  • IND Shooting Guard #12
Damien Wilkens started Friday’s game against the Hawks, with Austin Daye coming off the bench.
Daye had a 28-point explosion on Wednesday and it would have been nice to have seen him in the starting lineup, but he’ll perform the same function off the bench. Wilkens is just a defensive stopper and has no fantasy value.
  • IND Shooting Guard #12
Damien Wilkins has been signed by the Pistons.
He played for the Hawks last season and while he’ll likely be on a roster for years to come, he’s not going to be a recommended fantasy player.
