The Milwaukee Bucks released forward Damir Markota on Friday.
Acquired in a 2006 draft night deal with the Spurs, Markota spent one season with the Bucks. Up and down between the Bucks and the NBADL, Markota played in 30 games for Milwaukee, averaging less than 6 MPG and scoring under 2 PPG. Markota is just 21, so there’s a chance he’ll surface elsewhere on a team seeking frontcourt depth.

The Bucks signed power forward Damir Markota on Tuesday.
He was taken by the Spurs at No. 59 this year and then traded to the Bucks. He averaged 8.3 points and 4.4 rebounds last season for Cibona Zagreb of the Adriatic League and is likely to spend most of this season in the D-League.

The Bucks brought F Damir Markota up from the D-League, waiving guard Julius Hodge to make room for him.
Markota should have no fantasy value with the Bucks.

Andrew Bogut, done for the season because of a foot sprain, will not require surgery, but his foot will need to be immobilized for two-to-four weeks.
He’ll be ready to resume basketball activities in six-to-eight weeks. With both Bogut and Charlie V done, Milwaukee will be forced to activate Damir Markota, who’s been down in the D-League. Dan Gadzuric, out since February with a dislocated shoulder, is expected to return April 1.
