He was falsely accused of murder back in April, so it’s great that he’s finally able to move on. The athletic four has had brief stints with the Mavs and Pistons, but he’s never made it past training camp.

It was reported earlier today that Griffin has signed a deal with Gilboa Galil in Israel.

Griffin was falsely accused and has now been vindicated and he’s eager to put this whole mess behind him. He’s been trying to make an NBA squad since 2012, but has never hung on past training camp.

Griffin reportedly fired several rounds at another man outside of an apartment building in Orlando, Florida, and is currently being held without bond. Griffin went undrafted in 2012, and while he’s played for a handful of Summer League squads, he’s never officially made an NBA roster.

Once this is official, Griffin will be able to spend up to 45 days in the NBA next season and the rest of the time in the G-League. Griffin, known for his ridiculous athleticism and monster dunks, averaged 10.8 points and 7.8 rebounds in 25.5 minutes in four Vegas Summer League games.

He’s looked great at summer league with a couple highlight reel dunks. Griffin averaged 9.3 points, 2.8 boards and 2.0 blocks in 19.3 minutes per game. He’ll need a small miracle to make the rotation.

Griffin is a long shot to make the regular-season roster, and he can be ignored in all leagues on draft day.

“It’s going to be pretty good to see what [Stan Van Gundy] has to offer me as a player,” Griffin said. “I am eager to learn and ready to play.” After being a fan favorite in the D-League, he knows he has a lot of work to do to make it in the league. It will take more than talent and hops.” While the former D-Leaguer is ready to contribute, he still has to make the Pistons final roster and can be left undrafted in fantasy leagues as he’s unlikely to see big minutes even if he lands the final roster.

Of the two, Griffin has the better chance to make the final roster. Neither will be relevant in fantasy leagues.
