Bill Walker (elbow) said that he should be able to play by next week.
Walker underwent surgery at the beginning of March and was slapped with a four-to-six week timetable. If he returns next week, that will be right on schedule in his recovery. Given the crowded wing rotation in New York, Walker is likely going to be the odd man out.
  • Shooting Guard #5
Bill Walker has been ruled out for Sunday’s game with an injured elbow.
No word on exactly what’s ailing Walker, but it doesn’t sound too serious. His role is likely to shrink even further with J.R. Smith in town and Carmelo Anthony healthy, so don’t give him a second thought in average leagues.
  • Shooting Guard #5
Bill Walker (elbow) did not play on Monday against the Nets.
Walker could be held out through the All Star break as the Knicks are trying to integrate players into the Linsanity. Go ahead and drop him if you’ve been spot-starting or holding him in a deeper format.
  • Shooting Guard #5
Bill Walker (elbow) was inactive for Thursday’s game against the Heat.
Walker wasn’t mentioned in the pregame injury reports, so we’re marking him active on our side. He has lost any and all fantasy value he previously had, with the Knicks nearing full strength.
  • Shooting Guard #5
Bill Walker (elbow) will not practice Tuesday.
Walker’s diagnosis is mere “soreness.” He is going to be a healthy scratch a lot of nights anyway now that the Knicks are at full strength.
  • Shooting Guard #5
Knicks waived G/F Bill Walker on Friday.
Walker was a casualty of the Knicks signing of Dan Gadzuric earlier in the day. Walker averaged 5.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 19.4 minutes over 32 games (eight starts) this season for New York. He will look to latch on with another team needing a wing player.

The Knicks plan to sign Dan Gadzuric and waive Bill Walker.
There is “nothing official” yet, but Walker has been an afterthought since his elbow surgery. He’s played in just two games during April and had fallen out of the rotation under Mike Woodson. Gadzuric had reportedly planned to signed in the D-League at the end of February.
  • Shooting Guard #5
Bill Walker will miss 4-6 weeks after surgery on Monday to clean out his left elbow.
It’s an unfortunate blow for Walker and the Knicks, but if the team stays healthy his absence shouldn’t be very noticeable in fantasy leagues. It sounds like he’ll be ready for a possible playoff run.
  • Shooting Guard #5
Bill Walker (elbow surgery) expects to begin scrimmaging in about two weeks.
Walker could return this season, but it’s not guaranteed that the Knicks will even try to work him into the rotation.
  • Shooting Guard #5
Bill Walker (elbow surgery) could be back in 1-2 weeks, according to Mike Woodson.
This far from a concrete timetable, and it’s hard to envision Walker consistently getting significant run given the Knicks’ crowd at shooting guard and small forward. Walker hasn’t appeared in a game since Feb. 17.
