James Michael McAdoo is active for Game 5 on Thursday.
It’s usually Brandon Rush on the inactive list, so this could be a hint the Warriors go bigger. They have been smoked on small-ball lineups in the last two, so maybe we see more Festus Ezeli and Andrew Bogut. He is just insurance.
  • PHI Power Forward #14
James Michael McAdoo played seven minutes on Friday with two points, one rebound and one turnover.
He hasn’t played since May 7 and has been inactive for most of the playoff games. Andrew Bogut has not looked good and McAdoo stepped up when the Warriors went with a bigger lineup. McAdoo played well enough to get minutes again in Game 5.
  • PHI Power Forward #14
James Michael McAdoo will be an unrestricted free agent after Golden State declined to make him a qualifying offer.
McAdoo could latch on with another NBA team this summer but it’s unlikely that he’ll surface as a fantasy option no matter where he’s playing. He averaged just 2.9 points in limited appearances last season and will need a strong offseason to make a regular-season roster.
  • GSW Center #12
Warriors’ GM Bob Myers said that Andrew Bogut (knee) will make the trip to Cleveland for Game 6.
Myers added that the team is still awaiting the results of Bogut’s MRI, but with how much pain Bogut was in after hyperextending his knee during Game 5, it would be surprising to see him able to suit up on Thursday. If Bogut is indeed unavailable for Game 6, it’ll likely be Festus Ezeli picking up the majority of his minutes, with guys like Anderson Varejao, Marreese Speights and James Michael McAdoo all doing their part to help fill the void. Draymond Green will get all the run he can handle.
  • PHI Power Forward #14
James Michael McAdoo is listed as the starter for the Game 5 lineup sheets.
He was fairly impressive in his seven minutes in Game 4. McAdoo did not play for over a month before that outing, so this is foreign territory. Andre Iguodala will still see huge run and should defend LeBron James as much as possible. We’ll look for additional confirmation as it becomes available.
  • PHI Power Forward #14
The Warriors have re-signed James Michael McAdoo to a one-year deal.
The Warriors finally get to keep a big man. They lost Marreese Speights to the Clippers today, so McAdoo might be in the rotation to start the year. Plus, Zaza Pachulia is injury-prone. He’s still nowhere near worth drafting in most leagues.
  • GSW Head Coach
Steve Kerr will have to put one of his healthy players on the inactive list for Monday’s Game 5 with Draymond Green (suspension) active but unavailable.
James Michael McAdoo, Brandon Rush and Ian Clark have logged the least amount of minutes for the Dubs through their postseason run, so it’ll likely be one of those guys heading to the inactive list. Rush did earn a start in the one game that Green was sidelined during the regular season, and McAdoo played well in limited minutes during Game 4, so perhaps it’s Clark that comes to Game 5 in street clothes.
  • PHI Power Forward #14
Updating a previous item, James Michael McAdoo will come off the bench on Monday.
He was listed as the starter, but the Warriors changed their lineup just moments later, per their PR. McAdoo should still see double-digit minutes tonight, especially if Andrew Bogut keeps playing like he has.
  • PHI Power Forward #14
James Michael McAdoo played eight minutes in Game 5 on Monday with one rebound and three fouls.
He didn’t look very good against some of the Cavs’ bigger lineups. McAdoo could be in the rotation on Thursday with Andrew Bogut (knee) likely out, but he might also be inactive.
  • PHI Power Forward #14
James Michael McAdoo played eight minutes against the Celtics on Friday with two points, one rebound and one assist.
This wasn’t all garbage with McAdoo getting first half minutes. We’re not really sure why he played over Kevon Looney, but coach Steve Kerr can do whatever he wants.
