Jason Richardson missed Thursday’s practice because he was in Los Angeles getting his sore right hand checked out.
He originally hurt his hand against Utah on Nov. 5 and because it gets hit every time he plays, it’s bothered him in every game since. At times, he has had his fingers taped up to help stop the pain. The results of the exam will be known later today and he is questionable for Saturday’s game against Memphis.

Jason Richardson was told by hand specialist Dr. Norman Zemel that the torn tendon below his right pinkie knuckle would not require surgery.
Richardson can play while the tendon heals -- as long as he can tolerate the pain. We’d say he tolerated it pretty well last night when he went for 26-12-7. Get him active.

Jason Richardson said his left ankle is getting better, noting that the swelling is going down.
However, it’s still extremely puffy and he can’t put any pressure on it. With Mickael Pietrus also out, Calbert Cheaney will see a lot of minutes.

Jason Richardson did not travel with the Warriors to Seattle.
He’s missed eight games with his ankle injury, and it looks to become at least nine. It’s no coincidence Golden State has lost eight in a row. The Warriors are the Expos of the NBA. Players leave there and have much success. The Wizards alone are thriving with former Warriors Antawn Jamison, Larry Hughes, and Gilbert Arenas.

Jason Richardson has missed nine games with his sprained ankle, but is hoping to play Monday vs. the Nuggets.
He’s calling himself 75%, which means he’s very iffy for Monday’s game, although he should definitely be playing again by the end of the week. His ankle sprain was very similar to Kobe Bryant’s.

Jason Richardson could return to action today.
He practiced slightly Sunday and is listed as questionable. Activate him only if you need to take the chance and don’t have any better options playing more games.

Jason Richardson is set to have surgery on his left knee Tuesday in Los Angeles.
The knee has bothered him for a year and the “cleanup” procedure is not thought to be serious and he should be ready to go for training camp.

J.J. Redick is nearly fully recovered from his abdominal surgery he had back in May.
“I haven’t tested myself in a competitive situation to say whether or not I’m 100 percent,” Redick said. “But I’m feeling great. I really am. I don’t know what percentage I’m at, but I’m really, really, really happy with where I’m at right now.” Redick might be a sleeper pick in fantasy now that he’s healthy, and not only is Vince Carter out of the way (Phoenix), but Jason Richardson is an unrestricted free agent.

J.J. Redick scored 13 points off the bench on Thursday, hitting 5-of-10 shots from the field (including two threes) with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 25 minutes.
Redick, when in his groove this year, has produced this type of line on most nights whether he’s starting or coming off the bench. He hasn’t been fully consistent, though, so he’s only worth a look if you’re hunting 3-pointers, especially with Jason Richardson (virus) back in the fold.

Jason Richardson (chest/virus) returned to action in the Magic’s loss to the Hawks on Thursday, scoring seven points on 3-of-10 shooting (1-of-6 from downtown) with five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 23 minutes.
At least he got back onto the court, giving owners some peace of mind heading into the break. Our take is that the virus is a non-issue going forward, so owners should continue evaluating him as a must-own player in 8/9 cat, 12-team formats. Ryan Anderson had an off-night with 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting (including two threes) with five rebounds, one steal, and one block, and Dwight Howard went for 12 and 12 with two steals and five blocks.
