Emeka Okafor has been traded from the Hornets to the Wizards.
Okafor had a poor 2011-12 season which ended prematurely due to injuries -- it seems the Hornets didn’t approve of his attitude or desire to get back on the court. Even at full health, Okafor faces competition for minutes in the Wizards’ frontcourt, which already features Nene, Andray Blatche, Kevin Seraphin, Trevor Booker and Jan Vesely. If Blatche is traded or amnestied, Okafor’s outlook would be considerably brighter.

The Bobcats have still not contacted Kansas forward Thomas Robinson, who many have going with the No. 2 pick in the draft.
This is fueling speculation that the Bobcats are shopping the No. 2 pick, along with the fact they have met with several players who look like mid-first round picks, including Carolina’s Tyler Zeller. Robinson has spoken to the Wizards, who hold the No. 3 pick. On a side note, Robinson measured just 6-foot-8, which is on the small side for an NBA power forward, making him a ‘tweener.’

Former Bucks first-round pick forward Joe Alexander has been invited to training camp by the Warriors.
He was a real bust with the Bucks after being taken with the No. 8 pick in the 2008 draft and it would be surprising to see Alexander back in the NBA this season.
  • DEN Small Forward #25
Joe Alexander will re-sign with Maccabi Tel Aviv, according to David Pick.
The No. 8 pick of the 2008 NBA Draft has played all over the world since leaving the NBA and looks to be staying in Israel for the near future. The 29-year-old is unlikely to return to the NBA at this point in his career and can be ignored by fantasy owners.
  • DEN Small Forward #25
Former lottery pick Joe Alexander reportedly turned down a summer contract with the Celtics to sign with the Italian team Sassari.
Since leaving the NBA, Alexander has played in Russia, Israel and the D-League, and he also missed two full years while recovering from a stress fracture in his foot. “I don’t think NBA teams are seriously considering D-League guys for long-term roster spots,” Alexander said back in January. “The prospect of playing at a high level overseas and getting a longer contract is a risk I was willing to take.” It sounds like his NBA career has come to an end.
  • DEN Small Forward #25
Bucks rookie Joe Alexander scored a career-high 16 points off the bench on Monday, going 6-of-11 from the field with two 3-pointers, two rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes.
The Bucks’ playoff hopes are all but gone, and there’s a chance that Alexander will be in the rotation for what’s left of the season. Keep in mind, however, that the Bucks were thoroughly in control of this game and had plenty of ‘garbage time’ to play around with. Alexander also committed two turnovers and shot 2-of-5 from the free throw line.
  • DEN Small Forward #25
Joe Alexander should get significantly more playing time now that the Bucks have traded Richard Jefferson to San Antonio.
Milwaukee received small forward Bruce Bowen in the deal, but he’s a 37-year-old defensive specialist who could get bought out this summer. Charlie Bell and Michael Redd can play some SF if needed, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute could also pick up minutes at SF if the Bucks re-sign Charlie Villanueva.
  • Power Forward #5
Amir Johnson and rookie Brandon Jennings will start for the Bucks summer league team in Vegas.
Johnson was a late addition, but given the fact he’s still developing his game and has to learn Scott Skiles’ system, it makes sense. Rookie Brandon Jennings is also playing, along with Jodie Meeks, Luc Mbah a Moute and Joe Alexander. Given the fact the Bucks lost Richard Jefferson and Charlie Villanueva this summer, Johnson, Mbah a Moute and Alexander need all the work they can get, as at least one, if not two of them, will be starters.
  • DEN Small Forward #25
Joe Alexander has yet to practice or play in a preseason game for the Bucks this year due to a hamstring injury.
The Bucks have to decide whether to exercise their option on him by the end of the month. After last year’s disappointing performance and this year’s injury woes, it’s not looking too favorable. Ignore him on draft day at this point.
  • DEN Small Forward #25
Joe Alexander will be sidelined for the next 8-to-12 weeks after partially tearing an already injured hamstring.
The 2008 Lottery pick averaged a disappointing 4.7 points and 1.9 rebounds over 59 games in his rookie season, and his latest injury certainly doesn’t do him any favors. It’s best to stay away on draft day.
