Julian Wright, the No. 13 pick in the 2007 draft, has signed a D-League contract.
While in Toronto last season, Wright griped about playing time and soon found himself out of a job. He’s an athletic 6'8" SF and could certainly earn a spot on an NBA roster, but he’s not worth monitoring in fantasyland.

Julian Wright will play for the Brooklyn Nets in summer league.
Wright, the No. 13 overall pick in the 2007 draft, spent last season playing for the Austin Toros, where he averaged 15.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. “For myself, it was comforting to know I have skills and have what it takes,” he said. He credited his success in the D-League for resurrecting his career, but he’ll still have to prove that his athleticism will translate to success at the NBA level.
  • TOR Small Forward
Julian Wright will not play for the Nets during Summer League due to a strained tendon in his leg.
The injury shouldn’t keep Wright sidelined for long, but it hurts his chances of earning another NBA contract after spending the 2011-12 season in the D-League. Even if he does make an NBA roster, he’s not worthy of fantasy attention.

Adam Morrison, the No. 3 pick in the 2006 draft, will play for the Nets during Summer League.
Morrison has been playing overseas for years now and is a longshot to make the Nets roster, but it’s excellent to see him healthy and enjoying the game. He is joined on the Summer League team by fellow make-good veterans Julian Wright and Al Thornton.

Julian Wright is close to signing a deal in Israel.
Wright would play for Maccabi Rishon LeZion. Wright was expected to play for the Nets summer league team, but he wound up hurting his leg and never suited up. The No. 13 pick of the 2007 draft spent part of last season playing in the D-League.
  • TOR Small Forward
Julian Wright has signed with Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel.
Wright was close to a deal in late September and the move is now official. The No. 13 overall pick of the 2007 draft will likely have a larger role overseas than he’s had in his brief NBA career.
  • TOR Small Forward
Julian Wright has signed with Aquila Basket Trento of Italy.
Wright will continue his stay in Europe after most recently playing with Panathinaikos and Bnei Herzliya. The 28-year-old is unlikely to find another job in the NBA at this point in his career and will finish with averages of 3.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 231 games.

The Charlotte Bobcats had a look at Julian Wright in a workout Saturday.
Wright, a 6'8" forward, didn’t enjoy a good day shooting the ball, and his jump shot has been considered a weak spot for some time. Still, the ‘Cats are apparently seeking a frontcourt scorer with their eighth pick, so Wright may still be an option.
  • TOR Small Forward
The Hornets took forward Julian Wright with the 13th pick in the draft.
There was a thought they’d go with a guard, and it’s quite surprising that Al Thornton is still on the board. Wright has the total package except for the fact he’s not a great shooter. We thought the Hornets would go after a scorer, and Wright probably won’t make much of an impact in the upcoming season - Especially from a fantasy standpoint.

Peja Stojakovic sat out the second half of Friday’s overtime win with a groin injury, but it’s not thought to be serious.
Uh oh. He scored just nine points in 16 minutes and we have to hope that his groin strain is of the minor variety. He’s questionable for his next game, so we’re guessing this is not the 4-6 week serious variety. Rasual Butler and Julian Wright will see extra minutes if he’s going to miss much time.
