Corey Maggette (Achilles) will not play again this season.
Maggette is done for the year, Paul Silas revealed at shootaround on Thursday. He has missed 24 games this season due to various injuries and will now be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Derrick Brown, Matt Carroll and Reggie Williams (when healthy) will all see an increase in minutes.
  • NOP Shooting Guard #13
Matt Carroll said he will pick up his $3.5 player option for the 2012-13 season.
The Bobcats strangely signed Carroll to a six-year, $27 million contract in July of 2007. As a fringe NBA player, exercising his option for next season is a no-brainer. Carroll has averaged just 11.6 minutes per game for the 7-56 Bobcats this season.
  • SAS Small Forward
Derrick Brown (ankle) will not play on Thursday against the Knicks, and Tyrus Thomas will start in his place.
Thomas is a deep league desperation play, at best, and look for D.J. White to get a few extra minutes. Matt Carroll could also be worth a look in deep leagues for his 3-point shooting. Otherwise, it’s possible the Bobcats go with a small lineup in their attempt to avoid history, which would benefit Kemba Walker.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #12
Gerald Henderson (tailbone) has been ruled out for Friday’s Bobcats game against the 76ers.
Matt Carroll had 17 points and three rebounds in 34 minutes in place of Henderson on Wednesday and will get another start with Henderson sidelined. Henderson’s daily-lineup league owners could do worse to find a one-game replacement.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #12
According to the Bobcats’ broadcast team, Gerald Henderson pulled himself out of the starting lineup just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday night due to a bruised tailbone.
Henderson was the victim of a flagrant foul by Jared Jeffries on Tuesday night and took a hard fall, but stayed in the game. He apparently suffered the tailbone injury in that fall and after warming up in pre-game, decided he couldn’t go tonight. Matt Carroll will start in Henderson’s place tonight.
  • NOP Shooting Guard #13
Matt Carroll made his first start of the season in place of Gerald Henderson (tailbone) and had a season-high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting in 35 minutes on Wednesday.
He didn’t hit a 3-pointer tonight, but played very well. Henderson tried to play, but pulled himself at the last second. They’re off until Friday, and our guess is Henderson will play in that one, sending Carroll back to the bench and irrelevance.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #12
Updating a previous item, the Bobcats have now said that Gerald Henderson (tailbone) may be able to play Friday against the 76ers.
We will be sure to pass along more information on Henderson as it becomes available. If Henderson doesn’t make it back, Matt Carroll will look to build upon his 34 minutes, 17 points and three rebounds from his spot-start on Wednesday.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #12
Gerald Henderson (back) says he should be ready to play against the Lakers Tuesday.
Henderson aggravated his balky back taking a charge against the Sixers on Friday night. It sounds like the team expects him to gut it out, thus sending Matt Carroll back to the bench. The Bobcats have just three games this week.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #12
Gerald Henderson will return to the starting lineup for the Bobcats on Friday against the 76ers.
Henderson only ended up missing one game and is safe to get back into all fantasy lineups.
  • NOP Shooting Guard #13
Matt Carroll scored 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Carroll and Derrick Brown (11 points, five boards, two assists, one block, one three, 30 minutes) are both on the 14-16 team radar right now. Carroll is coming off a 17-point outing on Wednesday. Bismack Biyombo had two points, two boards, and a block in 11 minutes off the bench, as well.
