The Golden State Warriors announced Friday that Mike Dunleavy Jr. has officially been promoted to the position of General Manager.
It didn’t take too long for the Warriors to find Bob Myers’ replacement and they didn’t have to look very far. Dunleavy Jr. originally joined the Warriors front office in 2018-19 as a pro scout after a 15-year playing career. He served as vice president of basketball operations for the past two seasons and also served two years as assistant GM. Myers will continue in his role as president of basketball operations/general manager until June 30th. At that point, the keys to the ship are all Dunleavy’s.

The Achillies’ tendinitis of Chris Mills will mean ''Mike [Dunleavy] will get into the game quicker, and Troy (Murphy) will take earlier blows,’' coach Eric Musselman said.
Dunleavy has begun to get more playing time in recent games. After consecutive six-minute stints in games against Detroit and Indiana, Dunleavy has averaged 20 minutes per game in the past four.

According to a team spokesman, Mike Dunleavy will miss the next two games.
Dunleavy’s ankle still is not well enough for him to return. ``In practice Tuesday, it didn’t feel like it was getting better,’' Dunleavy said. ``I went to the trainer and he said to get it checked further.’' More inflammation was found, which prompted the Warriors to sit him down last night.

Coach Eric Musselman said that if Mike Dunleavy is “100 percent” he’ll start Wednesday.
Dunleavy’s return isn’t necessarily bad news for Brian Cardinal, who has started the past four games. Cardinal might start Wednesday because Clifford Robinson’s status is now unclear. Robinson didn’t practice Monday because of back spasms.

Carlos Delfino (groin) did not fly with the team to Cleveland on Friday and is considered doubtful for the Bucks game on Saturday against the Grizzlies.
Delfino has a very fantasy-friendly game, but can never seem to stay healthy. It looks like Delfino will miss both games this weekend, with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Mike Dunleavy set to continue to get more minutes in his place.
