The Bucks signed second-round pick Nate Wolters on Thursday.
Wolters was the 38th overall pick of June’s draft out of South Dakota State. The Bucks acquired the pick via Washington as part of the Glen Rice, Jr. trade. Wolters averaged 22 points and 5.6 rebounds per game as a junior and should spend most of the season in the D-League.

Brandon Knight played just 18 minutes in Wednesday’s blowout loss, finishing with eight points and one assist on 2-of-7 shooting.
Larry Drew cleared his bench early and this game was basically over after the first quarter. Knight is still the starter and will be better on most nights, while Nate Wolters got 30 minutes off the bench and responded with 18 points, seven assists, two steals and a block. If you were able to see this one coming, go play the lottery. But despite tonight’s disaster, Knight is still the PG to own in Milwaukee.

Nate Wolters played 30 minutes and had a season-high 18 points and seven assists on 7-of-15 shooting in Wednesday’s blowout loss.
Larry Drew benched Brandon Knight and the starters, and Wolters had his best game of the season, although he did have 10 assists back on Nov. 2. Assuming this was a fluke after a disgusted Drew went to his reserves, Wolters should be left on waivers until we see him do it again.

Nate Wolters hit 9-of-15 shots and a 3-pointer for a season-high 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a steal in another start on Saturday.
The rookie has been starting at shooting guard for the banged up Bucks and the points, rebounds and made baskets were all season highs tonight. Maybe he keeps this going as long as he’s in the starting lineup for the Bucks, but we still don’t fully trust him. This was just his fourth game of the season in double-digit scoring and he was averaging just 6.3 points in his previous three games. He’s certainly worth a look going forward, and is having an impressive rookie season, but isn’t necessarily someone you want to run out and add to your fantasy roster, unless you’re in a pretty deep league. And the fact that Nate Wolters is a better fantasy player than O.J. Mayo tells you everything you need to know about Larry Drew and the Bucks.

Nate Wolters played just 17 minutes against the Pacers on Thursday with four points, one rebound and one block.
He’s lost a lot of his playing time to Ramon Sessions and this is his third game in a row with less than 20 minutes. Wolters was a nice story as a second-round pick playing big minutes earlier this month, but his fantasy value looks like it’s run its course.

Brandon Knight (hamstring) is doubtful for Friday’s game against Philadelphia.
Another day, another piece of bad news for Knight owners. If this news holds, Friday’s game would be fifth straight game that Knight has missed and the eighth total out of a possible eleven with his new team. With rookie Nate Wolters playing well and Luke Ridnour back from injury, Knight is becoming increasingly expendable in fantasy circles.

Ramon Sessions came off the bench for 16 points, one assist and a 3-pointer on 2-of-5 shooting in 23 minutes.
He was 11-of-11 from the free throw line and his arrival appears to have ruined Nate Wolters, who had seven points and one assist in 19 minutes. Wolters has scored a total of 17 points over his last four games, and while Sessions is hurting him, we can’t really get on board with recommending Sessions for a pick up, either.

Nate Wolters scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting (including two threes) with six rebounds, five assists and one steal in Monday’s blowout win over the Jazz.
For players like Wolters that are hit and miss in Larry Drew’s rocky rotations, it’s best to look at longer intervals to get a gauge on their value. Wolters has averaged 2.7 points, 3.1 boards, 3.0 assists and 0.7 combined steals and blocks for low-end value in 16-team formats over the last two weeks.

Luke Ridnour is expected to make his first start on Wednesday night.
The Bucks have gone with rookie Nate Wolters lately. While Wolters has done a fine job to this point, his inability to score is going to hold him back. Ridnour could take the job and run with it even once Brandon Knight (hamstring) comes back, so he’s someone to think about for owners that need some assists.

Bucks rookie Nate Wolters admitted that he needs to improve his jump shot and shooting range “in the coming years.”
He’s shooting 40.1 percent from the field, which includes an abysmal 3-of-29 from downtown. The good news is that more than half of his shot attempts are from within eight feet, and he’s posting a solid 3.3 assists vs. 0.9 turnovers per game. Coach Larry Drew also praised his energy and aggressiveness on offense, adding, “I see him having a solid NBA career.”
