Tell me again how DeMarcus Cousins wasn’t going to fit in George Karl’s system.
Cousins always has been almost unstoppable when he gets out and runs (it just wasn’t always easy to get him to do it consistently, it was one of Coach K’s concerns for years with Team USA). He was out and running in the Kings’ win Friday over the Celtics — he grabbed the rebound on this play and was just an unstoppable force going coast-to-coast for the dunk. Jae Crowder wasn’t going to stop him, just end up in the poster.
Karl — and Kings’ fans — hope to see a lot more of that.
Cousins finished with 31 points on 18 shots plus pulled down 15 rebounds. He almost made it a triple-double with nine turnovers, but that can be corrected. Cousins, already an All-Star, could take the next step under Karl. Especially if he gets out and runs.
