We weren’t going to see Terrel Harris opening night for Portland anyway — he got a five game suspension from the league for failing a drug test (the telltale sign he tested positive for marijuana on three different occasions).
But it looks like we will not see him at all in Rip City. The Blazers plan to cut him loose, reports the Oregonian.
Harris has wanted to catch on as a three-and-D guy but last season he shot 14.8 percent from the field when he did get in games. Which was only 20 times anyway. Throw in that he has been a turnover machine (last season 35 percent of his possessions used ended in a turnover) and you can see why the Blazers would want to move on.
With all those issues and that five game suspension the next time an NBA team signs him, Harris might be a playing overseas this season.
