I’ll admit, I was skeptical – both about David Stockton’s NBA prospects and Chris Douglas-Roberts bringing back the short shorts.
Stockton had a fine four-year career at Gonzaga, but he’s just 5-foot-11 and hardy dominated mid-major college competition. Still, he worked out with the Jazz, Thunder and Wizards.
Now, he’s getting a shot in training camp.

If Garrett Temple is still banged up, Stockton is probably just there to run a backup offense during practice. I doubt he has much chance of making the team, but Wizards need someone for that role, and Stockton will get valuable experience around experienced NBA players.
On a much cooler note – though I had doubts about whether he’d actually go through with it without the Clippers rejecting the idea – Douglas-Roberts is actually wearing the John Stockton-style shorts. Now, we have photographic proof:
